Pendleton Pilsner

Pendleton is an inner-city suburb and also a district of Salford. It is known for under- going rapid urbanisation in the Industrial Revolution. Until 1780, Pendleton was a rural village. However, the Industrial Revolution brought about large cotton mills. Pendleton Colliery was developed from the early 19th century.

Pilsner is a type of pale lager, taking its name from the Bohemian city of Pilsen, the birthplace of the very first pale lager in 1842. It was invented through various brewers’ experimentation, aging beer crafted with cool fermenting yeasts in caves. This largely improved the beer's clarity and shelf-life. A Bavarian brewer named Josef Groll produced the first ever batch.
